Configure DC
First of all, install AD DS and then follow these steps to configure DC.If you are looking for how to install AD DS click HERE to get help.
Configure New DC (Domain Controler)
- Run server manager and click AD DS.
- Select Add a new forest and enter Root domain name of your choice and then click enter.
- Select (Forest Function Level) and (Domain Function Level). And set the password of your choice for Directory Services Restore Mode.
- Click the Next button.
- Set the NetBIOS name.
- Specify Database folder or log folder and so on. It's ok to keep default if you don't have specific requirements.
- Check the contents you configured and click the Next button.
- Click the Install button and after finishing installation process, System will automatically restart.
- After restarting the system, the login name is changed as Domain name or user name as shown in the below screenshot.
- Enter your Password and login to your server.
In this way, the DC is configured.
